Sue’s Approach
ACCEPT · ALIGN · EMBODY
Three simple words that sit at the heart of Authentic Smile.
ACCEPT
Meeting yourself where you are.
Not where you think you should be, not where somebody else expects you to be — but where you actually are.
ALIGN
Exploring what feels authentically true for you.
Your needs, your boundaries, your values, your choices and your own inner knowing.
EMBODY
Allowing what you’ve discovered to become something you don’t just understand, but begin to recognise and live for yourself.
There is no one way this has to look.
My role isn’t to tell you what to accept, what alignment should feel like, or how you should embody it. It’s to create space for you to discover what those words mean in your own life.
Everything I offer is an invitation, not an instruction.
If something I offer feels useful, you’re welcome to explore it. If your body, intuition or inner voice is asking for something different, you’re equally welcome to honour that.
My role isn’t to tell you what your truth is.
It’s to create space for you to discover it for yourself.
Where my work comes from
My personal development journey began in my twenties, long before I had language for what I was experiencing.
Books, spiritual teachings, and years of inner work helped me begin to understand myself on a deeper level.
Over time, I studied, trained, explored, and lived my way through many different approaches.
But I don’t teach one system.
I share what I’ve lived.
My work brings together spiritual exploration, somatic awareness, nervous-system understanding, intuition, and years of personal experience.
This is where Authentic Smile comes from.
What we might explore
The qualities I return to again and again in my own life and work include:
Acceptance · Deservability · Forgiveness · Gratitude · Trust · Faith · Surrender
These aren’t a checklist to work through or things I believe you need to achieve.
They are simply some of the places our exploration might take us.
For you, it might be acceptance. It might be forgiveness, a boundary, gratitude, anger, grief, trust or surrender. Or it might be something completely different.
My role is not to decide what you need to work on, but to create space for you to explore what is present and discover what feels authentically true for you.
♥
All feelings are welcome here.
They do not need to be pushed away.
When we acknowledge and honour them, the weight begins to loosen.

My Journal Journey Workbook Series was created from this philosophy.
It offers a gentle, honest space to explore yourself, practise new ways of being, and reconnect with your authentic smile — in your own time.
Tools I use — and why they matter
Over the years I’ve explored and practised a wide range of personal development tools.
Some are reflective, some expressive, some spiritual, and some deeply somatic.
Each offers a different way of exploring what is present for you.
These may include:
meditation, mirror work, affirmations, journaling, letter writing, gratitude practices, intention-setting, visualisation, ritual, creative reflection, movement and somatic awareness.
⭐ What’s important to remember
There is no single technique that works for everyone.
There is only what works for you.
We each have our own rhythm, history, experiences and way of processing life. No two stories unfold in exactly the same way.
My work isn’t about fitting you into a method.
It’s about offering different ways to explore, while giving you the space and choice to discover what feels useful, meaningful and authentically right for you.
⭐ Why Journaling Is At The Heart of My Work
Journaling became one of the most powerful tools in my own journey — not because I saw myself as “a writer”, but because it gave me a way to be honest.
It became a space to release emotion, recognise patterns, ask questions, reconnect with myself and listen more deeply.
That is why journaling sits at the heart of so much of what I offer.
But journaling isn’t about forcing an answer onto the page.
Sometimes the words flow. Sometimes they don’t. Sometimes a question opens something up, and sometimes you might feel resistance to it.
For me, even that resistance can be something to get curious about — but it is always yours to listen to.
You can pause. Come back later. Try a different question. Or decide that particular exploration isn’t right for you.
The Journal Journey Workbook Series grew from everything journaling gave me: a gentle, creative space to explore emotions, notice patterns, listen to myself and discover what feels true for me.
Your handwriting doesn’t matter.
Your spelling doesn’t matter.
Your “writing ability” doesn’t matter.
What matters is the connection you build with yourself.
♥
Journaling has become one of the tools I return to again and again, which still makes me smile because for years I carried the belief that “I can’t write”.
I didn’t particularly enjoy secondary school and never saw myself as an academic person. Looking back, I don’t think my creativity had really been discovered or encouraged yet.
That came much later in life.
And somewhere along the way, the person who believed she couldn’t write began filling journals, creating workbooks and discovering just how powerful putting something onto a page could be.
It turns out I could write. I just needed to find my own way of doing it.
